Thought for the day...the parent company invested millions of dollars into buying another company, do you think they have the right to use their facilities and equipment as they see fit? Locker room lawyers, including low, and middle management don’t even have a clue of what will or will not be done.

Of course they do. On the other hand, why the adamant denials by said purchased company that nothing will change, blah, blah, blah? Possibly to stem the tide of driver departures because of the upheaval? No one knows what will or will not be done, except at the highest levels-which none of us here on this board are a part of.
I have personally had my FM say one thing and then say the exact opposite the very next day. (Things aren't going to change vs. changes are coming and I think you will benefit greatly from them). Communication was not a strong point before, and it has, IMO, gotten quite a bit worse since the take over as all issus big and small get worked out.
Each of us just needs to be patient, see how things shake out, determine if this company is still a good fit or not once the dust settles, and make decisions accordingly.

The fact that every time Swift/Knight buys another company, the first thing mentioned is that nothing will change shows how bad the reputations of both of them are. Some of it justified, and others perhaps not so much.

Still, if Swift/Knight were top dogs in the industry with stellar track records and great reputations among drivers, the driver exodus would be small to almost non-existent, and the mid level management wouldn't have to "fib" about what is going to happen next, as everyone would welcome the changes.

I'm gonna just go on record and say that I don't give a rat's backside what the livery is on the trailers I'm hauling.

I care about things like whether or not I'm being micromanaged and whether or not I'm still getting the miles and the pay I was before.

As long as I'm still getting my 2800-3000 miles a week and nobody's looking over my shoulder telling me where to stop for fuel or asking why I took a 45 minute break instead of a 30, I'll haul whatever trailer they want me to haul.

    Friend and Redtwin Thank this.

I agree that they can do whatever they like but like RebelChick mention it was only a strategy to keep drivers going out the door. This is just my opinion... "If you're not honest with me from the beginning then I just won't trust you!" Maybe my grandparents when they raised me the old fashion way; was not right?

Here’s what I know, what I care about the most, and what will either keep me or run me off. The month of March I made $10,260. The month of April I made $7025. This month I’m on track for $8200. My home time is still the best perk here. All these earnings happened with the buyout in the middle. Like @Redtwin said, these trucks can turn pink and owned by Caitlyn Jenner, doesn’t phase me one bit.

I missed all this. Yeah I don't care what color my truck is or what trailer I pull. I'm only out here to make money and I don't care where my paycheck ultimately comes from as long as it meets my minimum dollar amount to make living in a truck worthwhile.

Having said that, did anyone else get that email from Abilene about your MVR history?. I opened the link and it took me to page with a bunch of trucking company hiring ads.

Maybe Abilene is trying to tell me something o_O

Oh, it's not all doom and gloom with the new owners. Apparently they have requested that the truck wash at the yard be open 5 days a week.

Can't have dirty tractors hooked to Swift trailers now. :D
