Just in case there are still questions floating around about who we are now. Any and all claims for OS & D, accidents and injuries go through Knight. And we all know how Knight operates their fleet (just look at the posts about them on here).
On another note, to go right along with that, I was written up for having my phone in my hand when I hit a bump hard enough to light up the camera. Yup, sure did. Because when I hit said bumps my phone fell and I picked it up. But that does not matter. So beware folks. First write up I have ever had here, other than maybe one log violation.

If Abilene is owned by a major corporation, and Alan has to deposit the earnings into Knights checking account, then it is safe to assume the new mothership has every right and say so as too how we operate. Yes, the smoke screen says Abilene, but we know who wears the pants.

 

......one more thought from this simple mind of mine. The buyout was 8 months ago. In that time, operations still couldn’t find their way out of a paper bag, we have got an easily attainable monthly mileage bonus, we’ve got a year end mileage bonus of 1 penny paid for all miles run for the year, we’ve seen change after change of personnel inside and one thing that eludes operations, no preplan. Now, for me personally, I still get home when I want for as long as I want, my earnings for the year, if I took the rest of the year off are the most ever in the 40+ years doing this nonsense, and I run where I want too. Now, someone brand new that is coming into this industry, not so much this company, might not get the same thing, but I’m sure if they hang around for 40+ years they will.

I’ll be the first one to say Abilene is not the end all be all, but for this short timer, it works out just fine.

 

I feel sorry for you. I hope you can find decent employment again soon.
