As an interested observer, I just googled that place. Holy crap driver. I would give dispatch a big “no thanks” on that one.

Ok...? Knight may own Abilene, but it's still forced dispatch. They dont call and ask you where you want to go. They have a sign on the window. When you're hired, you run all 48 states and all points in between. I dont think "I dont want to go" would be a valid reason to be taken off of something. There may be some that get special treatment, but I'm not in that cliq.

    Hey guys,
So i graduated school and thinking about coming to Abilene with my father to run teams.
Do you have any pros and cons you could tell me. They told me it's 50cpm for teams once Im done with training.
How many miles will you average for 5 days out of Richmond VA terminal?
    Any type of bonuses?

I think one of the other Drivers here is on a Team so I’ll let them answer the mileage question... but I think the Teams would get access to more miles as they can run around the clock if needed and often will rescue loads that us Solo Drivers are just pushing down the road.

The new bonus structure for 2019 was just announce ... Monthly Bonus is 1 CPM for every mile once you hit 10k miles in that month & 1 CPM for a Safety Bonus. Yearly Bonus is 1 CPM for all miles driven during the year.

Good Luck in your search for an OTR Team Home and I hope it’s with us here at Abilene.

Feel free to ask any questions here or to any of us via Private Message... I found this group very helpful and pretty honest when I was searching for a company to run with after completing my CDL school.

Wherever you end up... Stay Safe!!!

.50 split for all miles run. .02 bonus for running over 20K per month. Miles are between 5500 and 6500 per week.
