Well, I’m open for “development” but if I hear one more “I’m trying to educate you” or “your not seeing the big picture” or “if you would let me finish (after rambling on for five minutes)... I think I will pull what’s left of my hair out...

On second thought, maybe I don’t need to be the “next great super trucker” ... and as far as I’m concerned, just another reason to stay as far away from RVA as possible...

    :dontknow: win/win :dontknow:

Driver development manager. A term that I’d never heard before Knight, and one that I haven’t heard since. I will say though that the person in that position back then was great. He became terminal manager not too long before I left.

Glad that person was good. This one? 180 degree difference. @MidWest_MacDaddy has it correct. 20 minutes to say 2 minutes worth of crap.

Sounds like the ops director that I work for now.

And that’s perfectly fine... every company needs a “heavy” ... but ya, as JB mentioned, after the last few weeks I think there are more important issues that our “ax man” needs to be doing, like culling our herd of drivers, instead of standing guard to the door of Operations.

That's been one of the things that has mystified me about Abilene. I dunno if it's specific to Abilene or if it's common among trucking companies elsewhere, but they very clearly don't want drivers coming in to the office.

And it's been that way since I started. I can remember being new and just casually strolling in to the office area to ask Alan D. a question and everybody looking at me like I'd grown a third eye and Alan getting up kind of urgently to sorta politely but firmly guide me back out into the hallway. And now they got locks on the door to keep the riff-raff out and prevent that sort of thing from happening.

Mind you, when I notice that we do have a fair number of drivers that couldn't spell "CAT" if you spotted 'em the "C' and the "A", I dunno that I can entirely fault the office for it.

Still, it does make a man feel unwanted.
