Abilene Motor Express....A New Place To Call Home

During my Training here at AMX, I missed a turn and ended up going through ATL on some VERY tight streets... trainer didn’t say anything, just let me drive it... once back on the correct road he said “you just qualified for NYC Driving”.... lol

Made me feel good... bad that I missed a turn, but glad he let me fix it and that I actually got out without driving overtop a parked car... lol

I threw caution wholly to the winds and did not bother watching the video, proceeding under the assumption that whatever the Qualcomm unit would do when approaching a weigh station would be self-explanatory.

So far, that assumption appears to be correct. The big, green "BYPASS" graphic I received when approaching a closed weigh station earlier seemed fairly unambiguous.

Yes, it is rather straightforward but I do applaud Abilene for putting out information about the transition prior to the rollout or letting the Driver to Driver Network handle it...

 

Would you care to enlighten me about this changeover. Like what are we suppose to do with the old transponder, is the new system automatically going to work and is there any material handed out to get the driver up to speed?ill he back to work next week so I don’t what any surprises. Thanks!

No clue about the old system... but the new PrePass works the same as the old one, just on the QC screen... and my QC started telling me about the weigh stations and was in sync with the BestPass unit... so it seems to “just work”
