Finally got a broker load from Dallas to Kroger in forest park Ga. prob go over to drop yard in Ellenwood for the night since my appt is 20:30 and the only place I might find a spot to park that late. I hate grocery places, lol!

Ah, I misunderstood your post. I thought you were talking about YOU making the 911 call, not dispatch. My bad.

So very true. Seen incompetence more and more-especially with the locals. Just yesterday had a load that was picked up by a local 5 miles up the road to deliver to Sabra. Load was picked up on 8/8 and for some unknown reason, local driver decided to drop it on the yard instead. Then he (or she) closed the load out like normal. It was only found to be on the yard when Sabra called to find out where the load was-yesterday. I ended up taking it over there. But will that driver get in trouble? Nah. So there’s 2 issues. 1. That it wasn’t delivered by the driver. And 2. That it sat for 12 days on our yard unnoticed by any of our personnel.

O! And just to clarify.
When I said (Figure of speech).
I was thinking of the Sin's of laziness.
Like when a driver leaves a trailer that you have to pickup for a late delivery and the trailer has a flat tire or two, the electrical box was rip off, the lights don't work, what other surprised have we experience?

Real good running road. Been running it forever. Limon to Amarillo is mostly 2 lane, towns to go thru. Amarillo to Fort Worth is all 4 lane. There’s truckstops and rest areas all along the route. Never an issue to find parking.

Well pretty good road if you dont get stuck behind a Raider Express truck TWICE only going 58mph....think we had 13 trucks behind him at 1 time lol

Rolled into Groveport tonight with 10 minutes left of my 11... and counted 5 other Big Green Trucks sitting here... betting I will not be grabbing a load out of here in the morning.

This is what’s wrong with trucking, DM’s are really babysitters. I know of drivers here that need a wake up call everyday. They need 12-14 hours of a 10 hour break everyday, couldn’t get to a p/u, delivery or swap without having their hand held, threaten to quit if they’re dispatched to a part of the country in order to do the job they are hired to do, demand everything from the company and bring nothing to the table.

Sorry, the first time you need another piece of asset along with a driver to go find you to wake you up, that would be the last time. Sometimes I wonder if Abilene isn’t a daycare center. This is what the industry had turned into. I use to call it the 60/40 club, 60% are a complete waste of space, the other 40% do the job, now? I’m thinking it’s 80/20. And it’s not just drivers, it’s folks in operations too. Sorry for the rant, if I hadn’t experienced this firsthand over the years, I wouldn’t say anything. But the two times I have, it was also to check on 2 trucks, and both times the drivers were screwing off.

And the 20% probably get the same CPM as the 80%... maybe they get a few more miles tossed their way... that always helps.
