Dang it looks like I actually meet all the qualifications for the 16-hour exception and will use it today.
I never complain about sleeping in the truck because in shuttle (or short haul or whatever you want to call it) we get a full weekend instead of a 34, and I want this fleet to be successful and have it be my choice if I go back OTR, instead of "turns out the fleet loses money so we're getting rid of it."
But one of the legal requirements for the 16-hour exception is that you started and ended your previous 5 workdays at the terminal and you end today at your terminal, and this is probably the first time that I actually meet this requirement. And #### it I'm getting home tonight.
You can also only use it once every 7 days unless you've had a 34 after your previous time using it.

Note to self, refrain from using the outhouse at the West Memphis yard. This happy fellow was using it first.

Been a while since I've been to Colton. Tried to leave earlier and was confounded by the new layout. Thought I was going to be trapped at C.R. England forever.
Fortunately, much like a lab rat, I managed to find my way through the maze long enough to grab some grub before returning for the night.
My truck is finally ready after three weeks of Inland Kenworth giving it their firmest attentions. However, it is still in Phoenix while I am in Colton. We will see what the West Coast load planners have in store for me tomorrow, but hopefully it involves me getting my truck and being back in Richmond in time for my daughter's birthday.MidWest_MacDaddy, Bumper, Finfn1372 and 5 others Thank this. -
Pretty good week since leaving the house a week ago. The short day was Thursday when I left the house to do 2 pickups in Miami then went back home and left Friday. I have 4:24 minutes left on my 70 and 238 miles to my delivery in the morning. I’m thinking this will be my all time high mileage week. It will total out at 4349 miles for the week. Yesterday’s mileage includes 3 deliveries in Aurora, Centennial and Colorado Springs then a reload in Golden. Though I leave my house with one purpose, and that’s to run miles, I’m thinking I’m getting to old for this.
