It got better for a while, but the last 18 months or so have been very frustrating.

34 up 0300 tomorrow here in Ardmore, nothing came through today. Hopefully they just bobtail me to WM for a load and no chases for an empty trailer.

Delivered Hill-Phoenix to Perry, OK yesterday morning. Took 'em a while to get me a new load afterwards, but finally they came through with a load to pick up in Fort Worth and deliver to Southaven, MS. Shipper appointment was a very tight 2:00pm. Delivery appointment time was a very optimistic 7:45am to 8:30am window, and there was no way I was going to make that timeframe. Doing so would have required me to hit the shipper, get instantaneously loaded via Star Trek transporter technology or something, and immediately leave. I made this clear to all and sundry and went about my merry way.

Something about that 7:45am to 8:30am window did not seem right to me, though. So I called the broker to get a pick-up number and, in the course of the conversation, asked what the delivery window was for the receiver.

    "Anytime between 7:00am and 3:00pm."
    "No appointment time?"
"Nope! As long as you're there before 3:00pm, they'll take you."

Which is what I kinda suspected. Got there today at 10:30am local.

Did not get another load assignment until right before whoever is left at West Memphis left for the day. Pick up an empty reefer (if we have one) on the West Memphis yard, drag it to Forrest City, pick up a Boar's Head pre-load, and take it to New Castle.

Hometime will be up Monday morning. My medical procedure was done on Wednesday. Part of it was good, the other part, not so good. I’ll be on FML starting the 27th through the 10th for outpatient surgery/biopsy, along with other tests. So, I’ll be off the truck for 15 days. At least my short term disability will kick in.

Trust that at the end of it all, everything is still "good".

After sitting around all day yesterday after my 34 was up at 0300, they finally send me a deadhead move to bobtail to park near the Tyson plant in Clarksville, AR. Currently still waiting again.....hate not having a DM to call.....Got almost 2400 miles for the week so far so not too shabby if left sitting all day again....

    Lonesome and ExtremeUnction Thank this.

Sure hope it is better than the $hithole at Cargill in Mt Crawford, Va. After 12 hours there and not one pallet was put on my trailer, I bobtailed out of there and told the shipper clerk where to stick the load.
