Ended up getting bounced to wytheville for a lockbourne run, they need empties but none available in mt crawford. Next is lockbourne to shelby nc. Betting I get bounced back to wytheville since they need empties if any available in shelby after dropping.

    Bumper Thanks this.

Change of plans. Ended up dropping in wytheville and live loading a gatorade for richmond in the morning. Gotta see body shop anyway since I gotta use a crowbar to pop my hood. Cable either broke or needs adjusted plus need the new ifta stickers.

When my hood starts getting hard to open I spray it down with PB Blaster. That usually works for me.

    JohnBoy and jarhead0311 Thank this.

My northeast adventures continue. Currently parked on the street in Union City, NJ, waiting for the contractors to come along and unload these Hill-Phoenix coolers. The road that I am on is marked with a 10-ton weight limit, and my current position will require me to drive over a bridge on my way out. I have not been able to ascertain if the bridge itself is weight-limited or if it's just the roadway they're concerned about. My trucker atlas doesn't have the data, but it's a few years out of date. And Google has been spectacularly unhelpful in this regard.

The workers here at the Dollar Tree assure me that the bridge is fine, but it's not their truck or their @.$$ on the line if they're wrong. There's a Werner truck also here making a delivery, and I'm hoping he gets finished before I do so I can see what happens to him if he crosses the bridge.

Every time I entertain the notion of being a NE driver full time, I have a delivery like this to change my mind.

I remember about 5 years ago I got 4 NJ/NY/CT loads in a row. After the final one I told my DM, that if you want me to quit, dispatch me again up there. Then I sent it in on the QC. What did they do? Sent me a RI load. When I got back to the yard I went to the hotel for the night. Next morning I called in for a new load and not a thing was said. Haven’t been back since. That extra .12 per mile is not that important to me. It barely comes to $50.

I remember the one and only time I went to Ben and Jerrys. Was in the middle of Winter, of course. My wife was riding with me back then. It was miserable weather. She asked me where we were. I said Vermont. She suggested we never take one of these loads again. It was a Vermont to Henderson NV load though. Good miles.

Got a groveport out of petersburg that dropped yesterday. Was also offered a Utah run but didn’t have the hours. Doing a 34 in circleville. Worked out good being it is snowing heavy today and supposed to get up to 3 inches.

Got the Las Vegas BH run after 34 was up yesterday. Decided to drop to 40 and go that way. Fortunately the snow storm I ran into when I hit Tulsa was just wet snow and the roads were just wet. Was trying to make it to Sayre today but got slowed too much with traffic so parked in El Reno for the day. Hopefully everything stays just wet all the way across. Should be in Vegas late Thursday morning. I wager I maybe got this load because everybody else didn’t want to drive into the snow storm, lol!
