Man... Sounds Tarping is the boss in Flatbed, well, I still have to choose between Abilene and Cypress Truck, if I feel like Abilene will give me the things I want, then I'm going with them, if I end up going with Cypress and tarping is kicking my *ss, then I'll do 3 months and bounce. So I'm not really fixating on doing Flatbed, it's just which of these companies will give me what I'm looking for.

    Lonesome Thanks this.

There isn't really a *good* way. It's all twisty mountain backroads no matter how you go. I've always gone south to Abingdon and then northwest from there. Your Garmin will get you there just fine.

You can park on the street in front of the Pepsi place and spend the night if you need to, but you'll pass the last truck stop about 2.5 hours before you arrive at the receiver. So plan your bathroom breaks accordingly.

Thanks, heading up from abingdon looked shortest but wasn’t sure if had to drive wrong side of the road to make turns/curves. Didn’t like way it looked. Got me dropping in pikeville then bouncing back to gatorade for a load to memphis. Thankfully get my new permit book while down there so I’m compliant. Looked at 52 into 460 over to pikevilke too, less twisty.

    Friend and Finfn1372 Thank this.

The road width is fine. Aside from driving through Abingdon itself, you'll have plenty of room to make the turns you need.

You’re only as good as the last load you did. You think for one minute anyone in that office remembers the time I chained up 2 years ago to get over Santiam Pass in Oregon to make my second drop of Boars Head? Then deadheaded 300 miles empty across US 20 on solid ice the whole way to reload? Oh wait, they’re all new at 1700 Willis Road.
