Slap in the face is what this is

 

Delivered my load of mattresses to Joliet. Currently on a snipe hunt for an empty trailer that got towed. Address on the load assignment is incorrect. They helpfully provided a company name, which I called, and they don't know where the trailer is. They gave me the phone number of the towing company that towed it, which I called, and got voice mail. So now I've got HQ involved, and hopefully they can figure something out on their end.

 

Oh boy.



Unattended truck lot. Flatbed trailer directly in front of the trailer I'm here to pick up. I am allergic to hooking up someone else's trailer because I don't want to give anybody the opportunity to blame me for damage to the trailer that I didn't actually do. But even if that weren't the case, I still wouldn't be able to clear the forklift with the Abilene trailer.

Naturally, the Abilene trailer has an expired inspection sticker. And there's a torn mudflap hanging from a badly bent mudflap bracket that will need to be repaired before it will pass an inspection.

I don't believe I am going to make my pick-up appointment on time.

 

I have said this before, you drivers at Abilene are certainly blessed with patience. Not me!!!

 

Well, I have some, but not an infinite supply. Turns out this trailer has been here since June, and it sat at some warehouse six months prior to that. Dude who towed it here isn't going to release it unless he gets paid the towing and storage fees he thinks he's due. Which sounds like something that will take a good long time to get squared away. So I called my DM and told 'em to give me something else to do.

 

Unloaded that rescued BH in Atlanta this morning then got sent a brokered load of frozen school lunches picking up tonight and dropped on the yard in Richmond then take a ten then grab an empty then head to Wytheville to grab a load going to Nitro then take that reefer after empty to Groveport. Love it when Im planned ahead for few days, wish they would do this regularly.

 

Finally got a new load. Had to drive an hour back to Joliet where I delivered my load last night to pick up an empty. Currently parked at the Petro in Gary. Picking up tomorrow south of Indy, delivering to Gatorade Wytheville Sunday morning. Getting paid layover for all the silliness today.

 

But who is protecting that poor receptionist???
