I thought you were going to contact Brian... Did he fail to return your call or did the call get postponed?

Whats your overall take on the company? Just saw some one asking about freight in Ohio? I assume they would hire in that area as well

Well, I am fairly new here as I was just assigned my truck a couple days ago after completing their internal training course for us newbies fresh out of CDL School.

I believe it's going to be an AWESOME place for me to start my trucking career and could totally see me being here for several years too.

I say that because my first plan was to sign on with one of the "Mega Training Carriers", get a sucky training experience, hate being used and abused as a newbie, get frustrated within six months and either find another Carrier that would hire me with only six months of experience, or just quit trucking altogether.

Luckily someone here on TTR suggested about five smaller companies and I checked into them and opted for Abilene and glad I did.

About the company, it's smaller (which is a plus in my opinion) and they run great O/O Spec'd out trucks and swap them out every three years. So it's a very new fleet. Everyone is pretty friendly and more than willing to answer questions, etc. Their freight is of good quality (no dollar stores... lol) and rarely do we ever touch freight. A mix of drop n hook and dock load/unload.

In short, ya I think I would do it again.

As to Ohio location, maybe other more experienced drivers here can answer that better than I. If you want to talk to someone, call the Richmond Office and ask for Brian in Recruiting.

If you have more questions, just ask as many here are more than willing to share.

    Stay Safe,
    MD

Hey buddy, at 48, I am in the same boat with you... lol

Call Brian in the morning and he will take care of you and check on your application.

Was it a paper app or online?
Sometimes online stuff floats around lost.

Rider policy is family....ish. It's suppose to be family but I know some guys that bring their girlfriends along. I think as long as you prove yourself you should be ok to bring whoever 18 and up I think but don't quote me on that.

Pay scale depends on experience. Their was a company wide pay raise recently but I don't know if they start everyone off at that or go off of your experience. Johnboy ( our leader ) could answer this question I'm sure.
