So, I have to repeatedly stop the truck, turn it off, hop out and turn off the battery just to reset the QC... At least once a day on average with some days having two and one day three times.

The feedback is that volvos do that... I can't imagine why one brand would lock up electronics more than any other.

    Irritating.

Depends... how many hours you get back tomorrow night? And if your having problems with getting home go higher up the chain. I like my job but if I complain and nothing gets done I go up to the next step. Remember, their paycheck is the same regardless what you do or don't do. And saying that I've only not made it home on time 1 time but they made up for it by letting me take an extra day off when I got home a day later. This time of year freight is slow across the board. Well maybe slow is a bad term. Hit or miss I should say.
Oh yeah and on the Volvo kill switch, I did laugh a lil when I read that. It does happen on my truck sometimes but yours is in my opinion too much. I'd have shop look at it. Does your camera do anything weird? I know coming back out from hometime sometimes mine will stay red for hours before it'll switch back to green. I usually leave my shirt on til then lol!

Thinking I will lay low and try to stay off the radar for a few weeks. Richmond is tired of hearing from me and honestly, kind of tired of it here too.

Camera? Weird stuff? Only watching me 24/7... What's weird about that??? LOL ... I have no clue what the camera does with different lights. Already got the warning email about my ball cap being on the camera. I hang it there at night, or whenever I am on my 10, and I guess I forgot it a couple times. So I got called on it... Makes me wonder just how often they peek in to see it was covered for like two days and I don't think full days at that. But being the new kid on the block and already on the radar I guess I would get more viewing than the old pros here.

I wrote it up last time I was in but I doubt they even touched it. I will write it up again next time I am in Richmond which I hope will be 2016. ;-)

Oh, and I get nine hours back tomorrow night but that's at midnight so it kind of wrecks Friday's plans even if I drive all night to get there. Oh well, we will see what the coming months bring as to home time.

it really takes months to geteverything all figured out with a company
    even for veterans
elogs are just another thing to learn to maximize your hours and getting home or to your next receiver
you might find 6 months from now the exact same week uses 4 less hours

as far as getting home if you want to plan to do something on a friday you better ask to be home thursday
    it is trucking after all

Still waiting on dispatch. This is really the only time I get frustrated with this job, coming off of home time is usually a waiting game. I've spewed my sarcastic words every time I come out of the house. I'll save it this time, it is what it is. I've been pretty fortunate here in that this is the only time I play the waiting game, at the house, I'm quite sure there is worse places to sit waiting on a load.

The first order of business when I accept my new load assignment and start rolling is to put in for my home time for Thanksgiving. I have absolutely no reason to doubt why I wouldn't be home for Turkey day. I plan on being home the Tuesday before and leave out The Saturday after. Just like last year and the year before. Just to be sure, I have a back up plan, I reserved a rental car from Enterprise right by the terminal, it's only an 11 hour drive home. Just in case. Time to go and do the last bit of household chores before I head out, clean the pool filters and go for a swim.

Oh yes, I am still very much in learn mode and settling in with the company and things will smooth out, a bit, going forward. That's why I didn't totally fly off the handle last week, ok yes maybe a bit, when home time was scheduled and didn't happen... lol

And yes, my personal plans for Friday can be moved to Monday but if they know you pad your home time schedule won't they always try to keep you out one more day knowing you don't need to be home until a day later??? LOL

Kind of like setting your watch ahead 10 so not to be late... At some point you just know you got that extra ten minutes to be late and still safe... :)

I completely forget about the camera. Every so often I look up and make sure both lights are burning green. Every so often when I wake up in the morning or go to bed at night I forget about it and sit on the edge of my bed with nothing more then my birthday suit on and my junk hanging out. If Stacey and Scott don't mind either do I. Sorry for the visual, but that's how I sleep, home and away. I diligently look too see if I'm plastered on any porn sites but alas, I am not to be found anywhere.

Wait, we can be sarcastic here??? ;-)

So how does thanksgiving work here? Is it a slow week so we can hope/volunteer for a couple extra days at home? I hear Christmas week can be slow.

Stay Safe (while swimming in that pool)

Well that might be one way to discourage them from randomly checking in on you... LOL

and yes, I would see where one would need to be ever vigilant searching the porn sites for stolen video clips of oneself... Might have a good lawsuit and retire early. (runs off to sign up for T-Mobile's unlimited data plan, must be more vigilant in this area)
