Been hearing that since post Christmas. This is the first two weekends (April) I have had extra time on loads. So if freight is slow, it's just now touching Abilene.

And if/when it picks up, Abilene will be the first to grab ahold of it.

Hey, is there a searchable PDF version of the FMCSA book? Would like to search for stuff like that but not interested in fingering through every page on my book.

I talked with Rusty today and I was invited to attend orientation with Abilene on the Wednesday of my choice. It will be a few weeks yet, probably early-mid May. Thanks for the suggestion @JohnBoy, maybe you'll be one of my trainers.

    I live in NC too...

Generically we get one day off the truck for every six days on the truck. So many work 12 days and take a weekend at home.

Home time, for me, varies. We have had a few things going on that needed more than a couple days off at a time so I have been running several weeks at a shot to accumulate enough time off at one time.

Been driving solo now for six months and only missed one requested home time when I was heading for Denver. I wasn't happy about it but I was new so they may have been testing my response. It was a very nice long haul and I didn't have anything that I "had" to be home for so it worked out ok. I just took a three day weekend the following weekend instead.

All checked in at Montgomery MGM. Awaiting to board the aircraft. Not sure what amenities are available on these flights. Have to layover in Charlotte, then off to Richmond.
