    Day 41....

Was supposed to be home today.

    Nope.

That's twice in a row my home time request got ignored.

You need to remind them of your home time. They can be forgetful especially if they're busy. Any load message you get sending you in the wrong direction reply on the Qualcomm that you can't do the load because you have home time.

To say I'm shocked would be a understatement as I believe AMX is a good company

Are U positive U have followed the proper protocol to notify Ur DM of Ur hometime?

After 41 days I would be on the phone politely asking some questions, just a suggestion

    Hope it works out

Finished orientation, passed road test, got company id and shirt, tomorrow get fuel card, double check paperwork, and then leaving out with at this time an unknown to me trainer. Ready to get this new career rolling!

I found the training to be really rough but it's only temporary and the first time I slept in my own truck I felt it was worth it.

Third time now I will need to do an 8/2 split to make delivery on time. I know it's not my trip planning but rather someone somewhere screwing up with the appointment times.

Had 2 pickups this morning. Got to the 8am one at 7:40 only for a ticked off foreman to tell me the appointment was not until 2pm and he had the same problem last week with another of our trucks. I can't blame the guy for being pissed when he is booking trucks and having them show up hours early and tying up his tiny yard.

Made a call said they would get back to me. Waited an hour and nothing so call back only to be told to go to 2nd pickup then come back to first. That's an extra 80 miles I had to drive that wasn't dispatched on qc so no doubt I did those for free.

In the end i didn't leave the first (now second) shipper until 4 hours later than I planned which means i have to make up that lost time by doing the split...that they don't want us to do.

If I don't do an 8/2 split at least once per week, then I'm doing something wrong. Mine though are usually done by me for me, not by me for them.

Got to Richmond at 5:30pm, by 6:15 I was dropped hooked and waiting for my 10 to be up so I can get my happy arse to Pocatello Idaho for Monday morning.

The only issue I have with doing the split is that I was told not to do them ( its printed clearly so in the manual) and I really don't like breaking rules...not so soon after being hired and not while I'm still on probation.

Also run into the problem of making sure you get the 2 hours done and manager or dispatch may not be aware of the need for you to be off duty for so long in the middle of your 14.

    BUT

Its do the split or be late. Pick my poison.
