All our trailers have meritor inflators on them but those only work when airlines are hooked up.

If it sat on the yard and slowly went flat then the yard jockey went tearing around the yard with it then that could roll the tire off the rim.

I've seen that too. Both situations you described. Had a D&H beer load at AB. When I hooked it up it had a flat. I know the guy (a friend) that dropped it there and he said it was fine when he did. Must have slowly leaked out while sitting. None of our trailers had such systems ... lol

I was fortunate that I could inflate it with my tire hose and get to a TS to have it fixed. The tire was fine otherwise.

That's odd... What would it matter?
It would just sit in the database.
But who knows... Just struck me odd.

I dunno, but he's not the first recruiter to tell me to wait until two or three weeks before I want to start to put in an application. Schneider was the first company I called, back in May when I started my CDL class, and they said the same thing. So I guess it makes it easier on the recruiters somehow?

My general understanding is it keeps newer applicants near the top of the pile. (Even databases are timed/dated lists) For every applicant they'd consider there's probably 10 or more they won't. So it's not unheard of that good potentials can get lost in the pile. Also, depending on how long between submitting an application and actually going for the job, things on the applicant's side "may" have changed. (maybe an address change or a new medication, or tickets/points on the license) So while it's true they can simply type a name and search for an existing application, they may need an updated version of it. In short, the fresher the better all around.

When I ran my construction company I'd keep applications on file for 60 days. After that they got filed in the garbage.

AMEN! I know many companies want to push their drivers but I honestly can't believe they'd be that stupid. Like you, I know my limits and just before they're reached, I'm done.
