Absolutely right Jason. I'll accept the fact a company like Stevens would write that, but i won't accept the fact a driver, new or experienced would ever do that. That freight 53 feet behind me will get there, with me in tow, safely.

I will never drive sleepy or tired for any company. Period. The whole problem with these companies pushing new or experienced drivers is in most cases that I've found...the dispatchers will push that individual because they know he/she will do anything they ask. No regard for human life or safety just had to go!! If more drivers in this industry would stand up and refuse to be bullied or threatened over what they feel is or isn't safe our highways would be a little safer. Case in point...I had a good friend years back who I teamed with at fedex killed by a truck driver who was falling asleep and refused to pull over because his dispatcher told him the load had to get there. He was not only So tired he didn't know what state he was even in but was driving for over 14.5 hrs straight. He survived the crash with nothing but bruises while my dear friend and his teammate burned to death..

I drove off my normal schedule last night and this morning to hit an appointment time that was not the consignee's appointment time. So, I'm way early. Pissed me off. I have issues driving at night that I didn't have 6 years ago. This KW is not night driver friendly at all. Needless to say, I won't do this again.

Hey, here's another question for you AME folks: Do you guys and gals do any work in/out of Winchester, VA? That's where my kids live with my ex.

We are by there/in there all the time. No worries. Just have a place to park and you're set.

Not sure but if you put in for home time there you will get time there.

Time with your kids is very important... Make it happen... (Just words of encouragement from a divorced father of two myself)

Nah, wouldn't put in home time there. Too close to my ex. LOL.

But if I'm in the area already and have some time to kill...

Ok, I am not pissed off...
I am not even venting... Honest...
I am really rather ... well, indifferent...
Which concerns me more than anything...

    But...

    Issue 1:
AC has been acting up... For the most part it was fixed, but still acts up now and then, except for the blower motor for the sleeper making noise... I asked that it be looked at when the AC was worked on and a second time when I had a PM done on the truck.

Guess who woke up in a hot box of a sleeper at noon because, you guess it, the rear AC blower took a dump. Ya, let's not actually fix it until it totally craps out on the Driver while OTR... Great Plan boys.

    Issue 2:
Got assigned a great load from Groveport to Jacksonville... Ya, awesome 800 mile run and right passed my house over the weekend too... Does not drop in FL until Monday 7/4 at 7am.

But, guess who is on Home Time from 7/3-7/5... Ya, me... Oh they will fix it I'm sure, trust me, but my last home time request of one day off got hosed the very same way.

Both issues will get addressed... But Really???

Like I said, really rather indifferent about it all.

    Stay Safe,
    MD

    The only way you will have "time to kill" is if you take home time... And honestly, I understand the too close to the ex, I do, but it's also very close to your kids. Your call. {shrug}
