Well, Trish's boss, my FM, knows that if a trainee smokes, dips, chews, spits or vapes, they won't be in my truck, sorry, I've had trainees that said they won't smoke in my truck, until they start driving. I can go into great detail about it, but I won't. That's why I only wind up with 2 or 3 trainees per year.

By the way, where do you live? The reason I'm asking is they try and pair trainees with trainers that live near each other.

No worries John, I understand. But when I say I wouldn't smoke you can take that to the bank. Even if folks are smokers, I've never smoked in their homes or cars. Never smoked in either of the 2 houses I've owned as well. I won't even smoke in my own car unless I'm rolling with the windows open. I'm one those strange ducks that enjoys smoking but hates the smell of nicotine on things.

I've lived in NE PA most of my life (since age 16 when I started my construction company) but as of last October I have no home. Part of taking care of my mom meant selling the house, my Harley, lots of my construction tools etc... etc... to pay the medical bills that amassed over 4 years. 10k a month adds up quickly. Still hold a PA license but been wanting to relocate down in that area. VA, NC, SC, maybe elsewhere. That's why I'm driving my car down there so it's available should I take some days off. Trish tells me the yard is secure to park it there. If not, I have a buddy that lives about 15 minutes from the yard.

I'm quite literally starting from scratch to rebuild my life again. The good news is, with the exception of ongoing costs at a couple hundred a month, I'm debt free.

God bless you. Yes the yard is very secure. In the 3.5 years I've been here, I haven't heard of one issue at the yard about personal vehicles. If you will be in orientation next week, I'll be back in richmond the 12th, after hometime. I'll talk to her to take you on. I'll start the ball rolling and ask Kimberly to assign you to my truck.

Hmmmm ... seem to missing a post I made earlier. Must have not actually posted it I guess?? It was a follow up to the one this morning. I'll have to back off my orientation until Monday the 11th. I sent Trish and Rusty an email this morning and will still call Trish Tuesday morning as she asked. Just too much to get done yet to leave this weekend as I planned.

God Bless you and yours as well John. I appreciate the offer but please don't feel pressured or obligated. I "think" (he says under his hat) I've not forgotten "too" much about driving a rig. I'll definitely want some backing practice and general refresher. I've pulled trailers of all sorts most of my life so the concept is solid but the size factors in ... lol

John, I noticed you live in central Florida and was wondering where the closest Abilene terminal is from here? Do you drive there and back home every time you take home time?

I live in South Florida, near West Palm Beach. I, like the rest of us that live outside of Richmond take our trucks home for our home time and vacation.

My fault, I was thinking Lake Wales. LOL Abilene would not work for me as I live in an apartment and have nowhere to park a truck.
