I hear ya. They're not perfect by any means. I've had mine tell me to get off Rt. 80 only to get right back on when I had another 700 miles to go before my real exit. ... Can we say GLITCH? ... lol

The low clearance going to Brooklyn drives the gps crazy. My gps eventually just says I'm outta here.

I have the 730 also. Open the dock program and you will see the trip planner feature. You can click waypoints for the route to follow then import the route.

There ya go. That works too. ;)

I'm often humbled by the good ole boys that did all this with nothing but maps and phone calls. Tech is great but we do tend to rely on it too much at times.

I also have MS Streets and Trips which is nice for local routing. But it doesn't take trucks into account. Or at least not the one I have. Maybe they've upgraded it since 2011.

Is that on the RM? I have not yet played around with their Dock program yet... Looking forward to seeing what it will do for me.

my RM had all kinds of fits coming out of NYC on our route via exit 30 which I did hit several trucking issues like low bridges... But coming in I turned off on exit 27 in error and it never hit any issues, but more "city streets" but no truck related issues.... So still not sure why the attempt to go 100 miles around the city.

I am doing everything in my power to avoid a NYC run. I can not make a timely run there, period. I don't belong there at all. If they send me there, the load will be late.

Cool... I don't have my home office set up yet so connecting the RM for updates and other options is still on the bad burner for a bit.

I have used MS S&T in the past for different non trucking projects... I am fairly sure MS has discontinued S&T a few years ago... ;-(

They will normally give you enough time to get there... And running there at night helps too.

But they don't send us OTR Drivers there too often.
