Nice summary... Looks like a good list for sure. I know I will be documenting more on the cover.

Also, the Transflo App is awesome for in truck submitting of paperwork. Saves waiting to get to a TS and then parking and going in to do it... Even if you do it while fueling the app is much nicer and you get all the numbers and links too.

I love the Transflo and CAT scale apps. Both are invaluable.

Call into your FM and start the ball rolling to get breakdown pay. Also, when you transflow in your next load next week, write down how many days you were broke down and location.

.......one addition to my earlier post.

On multi p/u & drop loads, I also write down on the cover sheet 1,2,3,4......whatever. Extra p/u's or drops and get numbered on each BOL accordingly, drop 1 of 4, drop 2 of 4, 3 of 4.

I, just like the rest of us, have far too many issues that we deal with on a daily basis, payroll mistakes are my least favorite thing to do. Whatever I can do to mitigate a payroll mistake, I'll do.

Ok, my little end of week story of a simple D/H.

Not complaining, just an example of what can happen and that D/Hs do get changed...

Going to Guardian in SC for a simple D/H and going home for the night before rolling north.

    Simple Right?

First I need to go to the security guard inside the building... Who informs me they don't do D/H... And then tells me to go to the S/R door... Walk down there... He tells me I need to go around the building to have the returning racks removed... I get back there through a tight road of trailers on both sides... Heaven help you if you met an on coming truck... Someone will be backing up.

I get back there and there is someone in that door so I need to find a place out of the way to park... No such thing... He moves out and I attempt to back in... With trailers in my way up front... I get backed in and go inside to get unloaded... Guy is finishing up the last unload and DISAPPEARS... I wait, forklifts come and fork lifts go... So I start walking the plant to find someone ... For them and they said someone would be right there... So they finally show up.. I get the racks off the box...

Now I have to go back to the first guy to get a door to unload the one pallet of returned glass... I get a door and attemp to back into it but yup, truck parked right in front of it so I am trying to back and miss the truck... and finally the driver comes out to move the truck.

I get that unloaded and go back in to the guy to get my paperwork for the return and the new load going NE... I get it and head around to finally drop the now empty trailer. BUT, there is a furniture cargo van in the way and I can't make the corner... Head back in to ask the security guard if she could call someone to get that Van moved... Meanwhile I am parked crooked blocking ANYONE from coming or going until the guy moves his van. Ok, he moves it...

I go drop the now empty box and see my new pickup BUT there is another trailer parked too close so I have to attempt to grab the kingpin from like a 45 degree angle... (Ok, maybe not a 45 but still) in doing so I almost high stick it as the new load is like 5 inches higher than my fifth wheel... And dang it's so much fun to crank a fully loaded 43k load... LOL

Get hooked up but facing the wrong way with no place to turn around... So around the building I go... Empty ranks and trailers everywhere and just hoping I don't meet someone coming the other direction.

So I finally get all the way around the building and stop back at the security guard place to turn in three sets of paperwork...

So, 2.5 hours and 2 miles later... I am rolling.

    Moral of the Story:
    Sometimes a simple D/H isn't!!!
Some times we earn our money.

For me, I had a good week of driving and have a load going to MA for Monday AM... Rolling home for dinner with the wife and mow the grass.

All in all, a pretty good week... LOL

    Stay Safe,
    MD

I've got them both now but obviously can't set them up until I'm hired and have the info I need.

Allen must be out. I haven't been able to talk to him for three days. But Victor and Jo both said to put my dates and time on a transflo sheet. I will be watching this closely to ensure my check doesn't look to bad.

Edit that: I know my wife @heckclan will be watching closely. Just kidding Babe!
