LOL .. you must mean our wake up call? As many of you might imagine from John's posts, he and I have been running pretty hard. Not a lot of sleep, left door closed and wheels non stop. So hard in fact we were actually looking forward to the wait at WalMart's dock to catch a few zzzz's. Well, we hadn't slept for more than a couple hours when a loud knocking started on the door.

Rather surprised and still sleeping John jumped up to answer in his skivies... lol. This rather bullish girl tells him the unloading is done and then I guess felt it appropriate to continue by telling John that "when at this dock you must remain fully clothed as I shouldn't have to see you like that". I'm like seriously??? LOL

After we both stopped laughing we hooked up and beat feet. The nerve of some folks ..... eh? LOL

Wow, I feel like a old fart for getting a nokia 9000 back in 1999. It was one of the first smart phones in the US. It was so big and over built. You could use it as a club. After that I bought a Qualcomm/Kyocera 6035 brick. Where's my win98 3.5" disk set??? My 56k usr modem at??? LOL!!!

OK, now that we've taken all the appropreate steps I can tell you what woke us up at the truck stop.

We're dead to the world for about 2 hours or so when the truck rocks like a tank hit it. Both of us jump up to see a trailer pulling away. John is laying on the air horn with one hand while putting on shoes with the other. I'm jumping from the top bunk grabing my shoes and camera. By the time I hit the floor John is in full sprint across the parking lot after the truck.(I sure am glad he was dressed) LOL

An escort for a heavy load saw it all, chased the guy down and parked in front of him so he couldn't leave. The driver was very cool and didn't even know his trailer swing just caught the right side door mirror.

In the end there was no damage, the fold away mirror did what its supposed to and the green cover snapped right back on. Everything is good with just a couple white paint rubs that should buff right off.

John informed saftey and its forgotten.

Next time we are at the yard lets swap trucks without telling dispatch or our respective managers.

Bet you won't have try hard after that. ;)

One day I will hit the magic 700, but not this day. Im at the auxiliary Abilene yard aka Groveport.

One driver just got a load he had only been waiting since 5am. Im about to change into my pyjamas, fire up the laptop and have a movie marathon.

The freightliner has an ac outlet near the floor in the bunk. I put my gallon jug of water right in front of it and the water is colder than the drinks i have in the fridge.
