I really want to stay for a year, then make a decision. But like I said, I'm not getting that warm, fuzzy feeling that I'm a valued driver. From 42 days straight with no day off, to an $800 paycheck. I'm not set up for this. I have bills not only to pay, but bills to catch up on. And an $800 check, that will be followed by another pittance on next check, is not allowing me to survive long on the road.

I just hope and pray that when(if) I ever get my chat with Victor that this will change. I've tried twice in the last week to talk to him via phone, and he never has the time. Told me that he'd call me by 3pm that day. No call. I'll say it again, I've NEVER had to be this proactive in ANY job I've ever had in my mediocre life. I hear what everyone is saying, despite the claims that I don't. I just don't understand what is happening. They give me a run, I run it to the best of my ability. I have not been late for a delivery that I had control over. If that is not good enough, why am I not being told?

However long your training is I guess. I suppose I could have spoken to someone about it, but that to me would have been no better than quitting. I was determined to get through it as quickly as possible so I didn't complain or ask for any change to the schedule or training.

I bought some energy drinks and got through the rougher days.

I can't do it either. If they announced tomorrow that they were going to an all team operation I would have to leave.

I am the sort of person that doesn't need to feel valued or even welcome at a job, because that is what it is to me. As long as I am paid for the work I do, that is all I need.

I did a broker load last week, one of those where they constantly call. When I delivered he finished off with a "thanks for doing a great job". My first thought was, keep the thanks, just make sure the money is right...that is all the thanks and appreciation I need.

I can understand the need to cover bills, we all have them. I was just fortunate enough to be in a position to liquidate everything I own and get out from under 99% of them before coming here.

No problem, as I have mentioned before. I am happy to give the information I would have liked to have before I started.

The ordeal of training has been worth it. I have now been here over 3 months and am making more money than I ever have in my lifetime. For all the frustrations I sometimes vent about, I love driving and am glad I found this profession even if it was in the later stages of life.

So let me get this correct...

You mean to say that you are proactively communicating with your Fleet Manager and nailing your delivery time and/or ETAs???

    Interesting concept for sure... :D
