Trailer ABS has zero interface with the truck. It has its own control module and sensors. The only thing the truck needs to do is supply 12 volt constant power on the centre pin.

I'll have to check and see if it's always hot or not. So this is tied into the fusebox in the kick panel on the firewall near the clutch pedal on a W900?

I know it is on our '95 Freightliner Classic. We've also got a '94 W900, I'd have to take a look at it and see.

We've actually only got one trailer that has ABS, a 2016 Landoll. All our other trailers are either weight exempt (over 50 ton) or too old. The Frightliner stays hooked to the Landoll, so that's the only truck we have setup to pull a ABS trailer. None of our trucks have ABS.

Even a truck that's not setup for a ABS trailer will pull it fine, your ABS just won't work, and you risk a violation for non-working ABS.

My KW is a p4 as well and the center pin is indeed hot while the key is off. I guess I should change that. I looked around in the fuse box but don't see what would be linked to the pigtail. This is something new to me so I have no idea where else to look. I tried following the harness that connects to the pigtail on the truck side but it disappears under the cab and I lose sight of it.
