There was another guy on here that got hired for West Region, Flatbed. Would have to look as I don't recall his name. Met him in Gary when he was going through orientation.

what was the reason they wouldn't load him?

potentially that's as much as 40 hours detention, though it's hard to imagine a real-world scenario that would achieve it.

AHH, gonna take a nap, but thought I would give an update since I finally have internet. Well, working internet. :biggrin_25525:
Spent 4 days at home. Got a call on my last day from FM saying hey haven't heard from ya so checking in. Told him ready to go tomorrow. Says yep that's what I have. Got ya on a good load to Texas. YAY, get to go out and start runnin. SOOOOO, I get to the truck Wednesday morning and find that they sent me the dispatch on Tuesday. Times and everything all messed up. Pick up empty stepdeck and go to Owatanna, MN. UHM, no empty's in the yard. So, BOBTAILIN!
Get there and find the empty that they said I should have found in the yard. HHMM, sounds like someone didn't send in their mt pickup. Pick up already loaded trailer and new schedule is for Friday morning in Lufkin, TX. So run like hell to get it there. Back to back 500+ mile days. Good running if you ask me. Get there the night before and feeling good. Also, got my preplan for pickup in LA for Saturday. So 8AM next morning I walk in to give paperwork and get off loaded, lady says to me "did you schedule the crane?" WHAT? "The company that normally delivers usually calls for the crane for us." Nice, so she calls them up and they can't guarantee if they can be there. So I call dispatch and head to the truck to sit and wait. Guy comes out 15-20 minutes later, crane is coming and can you move over to where they will unload you and unchain. They are going to "fit me in." Don't know if Customer Service had anything to do with it, but they arrived 3 hours later. :biggrin_2559:
Oh well, got unloaded and off to Louisiana.
So the preplan says Saturday pick-up, but the dispatch says pick up was scheduled 2 days earlier. :biggrin_2554: I go Friday and see if I can get it picked up. Let me in and load me no problem, except for sitting for an hour during their break time. (par for the course) So on my way to Springfield, OH for Monday delivery at 2130???? Hell, I'll be there at 8 AM ready to unload. It's nice to be ahead of the game for once.
So there is my update. Two back to back 1k mile trips. Hope this keeps up all the way to Thanksgiving. :biggrin_25520:

If you ever get the chance to go there you will see why it would potentially take that long. I talked to one of the O/O's that is a regular there and he says sometime he waits 6+ hours just to get into the scale and in line to load. That's not counting the hours in line getting loaded. Also says that one of the afternoon forklift drivers is a total $@!%^, and if he's cranky that day look out. He may let you sit in the dock and load the other trucks first even if you were next in line.
For the Roehl driver they probably forgot that he was even there to load. At least that would be my guess considering how the place runs.

well, i've never had them refuse to load me there, either in the side or the end docks. once you're in line on the side dock, they can't get anybody past you into the building, so there's no way to put another driver in front of you.

i've had to wait there several times, but never for more than three or four hours. "refusing to load" for two and a half days sounded like a different problem from just waiting in line.

if they catch you there on the security cameras up on top of the coils, on the deck away from the loading catwalks, or not wearing the safety gear, they say they'll refuse to load you and send you away. i was wondering if the reason that driver didn't get loaded might have had more to do with the driver than with logan.

Well from what he told me he was asked by his dispatcher to stick it out to help solve an issue they'd been having. I'd get more info from him but I don't have his # so I'll have to run into him at a terminal. We live close so we tend to bump into each other in Gary.
