Get off work and the fun is within walking distance and not worry about a DUI later that night.

    I think that's what I'll probably do.

So, what was the non-preventable accident? You explained your 3 incidents.

Left turn at greenlight in 30mph residential area. I was totally clear, no oncoming traffic. Start making turn, lady going like 80 doesn't even hit the brakes and slams into the tractor, totals both tractor and her car... she gets out and tries to flee the scene, then falls to the ground convulsing. Cops and paramedics come, she ends up getting ticketed for reckless driving.

If I had another incident in the next two years (very easy to do with the types of deliveries and workload) I'd get a safety termination. I could have taken a pay cut and get switched to merchandising for two years, but I'd rather just start somewhere else and keep driving, even if I'm making way less than what I used to. Merchandising was my least favorite part of the job I was doing.

So this company offered you continuing employment, but you quit, and are hoping some other company will hire you to tear up their equipment and then quit before they fire you? Best luck, brother.

Yeah if you put it that way. The types of situations you find yourself in OTR driving are different than local delivery driving with touch freight, heavy merchandising, etc. I think I would be better suited for it, at least at this point in time.

None of your incidents have to do with touching freight or heavy merchandising.

OTR requires the same daily skills as local delivery.
