I think you have figured out you should get your class A. A lot of times the school you choose can help land you a starting position. What you may also want to do is contact some trucking companies you would be interested in working for and ask if they recommend a school. That way you are introducing yourself to them AND finding out if you are more hireable after completing one school over another.
