As I mentioned in my intro post, I am the daughter of a now retired semi driver who took me on the road for 3 weeks when I was 17 years old and he trained me on being courteous to other semi drivers by pointing out 4 wheelers who did things right around semis and those that did things around semis. I still keep that training up to date by, after I pass a trucker, I speed up somewhat after passing if at all possible (I will not hit a vehicle in front to do that but I also make sure that I have plenty of room to make the pass and to speed up a little after I pass). I also refuse to weave in and out of lanes because I see no reason to do that unless a lane is totally blocked by construction and then becomes usable again later. I do keep my speed within 5 miles above the posted speed limit unless ALL traffic is running significantly above and the only option not to get run over is to run at the same speed as the rest of the traffic. Of course, if the traffic is running significantly below the speed limit, I do not go above the speed of the rest of the traffic.

I just drove from 2am to 7am on I80 from pa to nj. Out of the dozen trucks that I passed that signaled me every one, all 12, flashed their high beams at me to come over. That is 0 for 12, 100% ignorance. Who is teaching these guys to do this crap?

Pegasus, I took my GF with me for a week and pointed out all the stupid stuff 4 wheelers do and she admitted she was guilty of a lot of it but now she sees how dangerous and rude it is and will try to remember not to do it.

I was lucky enough to take that trip with my father between the time I got my learner's permit and my full driver's license so that I did not have many bad habits to overcome (I was convinced by my mother to get my full license when I entered college at 17 1/2 so I could take my sister on her side to school and pick her up from school even though I thought that a bicycle was good enough since I was going to college 5 blocks from my mother's home LOL just could not transport my 5 year old sister on a bicycle).
