USPS would be a sweet gig... Especially if you could land a nice rural route.

You already have that job. Deal with the dirty truck us P&D drivers left behind.

That's your decision; sacrifice one way or another.

That's the only thing I miss about OTR. I miss having my own truck AND the sleeper. Sometimes would be nice just to sleep in your truck after 10/12/14 hour shift. On some days I don't feel like driving home...

I don't think you are insane, I have had some thoughts of bailing from my place also, although I want to try fuel if I do, your issues are about the same as mine though, bottom of the board, the dirty trucks, getting a different truck every other couple of days, ect, ect, but three things you said really stuck out, home every day, 500 mile run, and most importantly the wife and the little ones at home, if it were me I would stay because of that, especially if you have a chance at a day run their eventually, I don't know, I am sure that OTR has its advantages, but that being away from the family constantly would be a issue for me.

I tell you what. Every time some yahoo gets ahold of "My truck" for whatever reason it's always coming back with a shop defect that will cause a problem if not fixed.

Its not that common someone gets a hold of my truck. The last time that happened it came back with enough damage to create a real problem. Ive always tried to maintain that truck 100% down to non broken toggles etc. Luckily I don't stay with that company too long.
