Very smart thing to do, I ended up finding out I needed to get on BP medicine and had to push my school date back a month but it was a lot better than getting there then finding out.
Con-way will only take physicals from certain places but no matter where you get it (even if you get it at crowder which is done by the same people that do the ones at the joplin terminal) they still make you get one the first day of orientation at the terminal.
I got one in KY so I could get my permit and then, because my KY one wasn't at a Con-way approved location, I got another one at Crowder. Then on the first day of orientation I found out I had to get yet another one lol.

Katey Thanks this.

Yeah you do have to do a 45 at Con-way orientation. Crowder, like most schools, doesn't actually teach the 45 as part of their program but the last week they show the con-way students how to set one up. If you can get the 90, the 45 is cake.

45 90 sounds hard I have never pulled as much as small trailer and hounestly the thoughts of only useing mirrors is kinda scarry. not horrific mind you or would not be considering this lol but i definately have some work cut out for me.
do the show you how to use the mirrors correctly or is it something that they figure everyone should allready know? I have done alot of teaching and sometimes very basic things get over looked because to those experienced it does not even come to mind but to the complete novice is a must.
IT ALL COMES BACK TO BASICS.
ps I have been useing my side mirrors alot more now than i ever have in the past -

Well Crowder is my only reference, but when we first started backing she told us what we should see if our mirrors were adjusted properly and then as we learned the manuvers she told us things to look for in our mirrors. (Kelli Miller was primary my instructor, she is awesome (but so were the other I worked with)).

for #2 i guess i can understand now, freight u dont pay for the class time but u dont get paid during it. if u quit during a year then u gotta pay for it
for #3 i figured as much, he hates pups so i guess he'll b happier with a 53. i honestly prefer driving double pups since i think they r a little more manuverable, but it stinks u cant back them up -
I see that this is Conway site...Great ! I was just approved for Orientation and Boot Camp in Joplin. It took a while cuz management wasn't real fond of my school. Yet, I think they liked me, good MVR, eager, HazMat, Passport, etc. My question is how's the actual training and finishing? I was trained primarily in a cabover with a 40 footer, although I did have some time in the conv cab. I am better than average in skills and handling, but concerned that I am goinng to Boot with a basic limitation, that being cabover 9 Speed. Comments?
