I'm a reefer mechanic, I work on both TK and carrier. Was debating on creating a YouTube channel and videoing repairs via gopro to help drivers out as I know the expenses involved with after hour service calls. If I get enough support I'll start putting out videos for the common codes and every day repairs. Thank you look forward to being able to assist

That sounds pretty cool I noticed when I'm looking for something truck-related on YouTube codes or whatever it's pretty hard to find.

Depends really. Some of these videos that show repair are long and stupid. We don't wanna hear you talk about ur life. We don't want 1 1/2 min INTRO'S. Only works if its straight to the point.

I wouldn't wanna tell random people my life anyways... I've just been around the business and watch people dump money into units that easily could be fixed with minimal tools. If that ain't for ya then cool

I'll take request on units and codes. Different units can have differing reasons for the same codes.

Yeah I think it's a great idea with all the bull crap on YouTube it would be nice to have something helpful for owner operators and truck drivers in general to put their shade tree mechanic skills to the test and save some money when you don't need a $5,000 computer to troubleshoot stuff.
I'm sure starting out it won't be perfect but hey anything that helps us truckers out can't we all that bad.

Ok It will be mainly for owner ops because well.. company drivers ain't footing the Bills lol. I'm going to allow this post to sit here for a few days and get request on the types of units, codes, and whatever else yall would like and also and document all my repairs in compact videos. So yall feel free to give me suggestions and I'll get started soon.

It would be pretty cool, but to be honest, there are not many people who have their own reefer trailer. This forum is always empty.

If you want the views, you should do videos helping people how to fix their own APU. Now that is a need. There are many folks out here who would want to know how to fix their APUs, and not spend hundreds or sometimes over a thousand dollars for TK to fix it.

I can do videos talking about fixing apu. I used to work for carrier and did lots of APU. Dont work on them to often anymore but any questions I'd be willing to answer via video and could help. Either way I just wanna provide some extra help whether it be APU, reefer, box truck. I'm experienced with all.

If you want to be noticed in the YT trucking community, you need to post short well-edited videos on all sorts of mechanical stuff. This is a market that has not been dominated yet. Most posting videos are truckers and not mechanics, and those who are mechanics post very long videos. If you want advice on how to make good mechanical videos look at TheDieseler and Francisco Amaya.
