Any online tools you would like me to program to make trucking easier/more fun?

Maybe a module that would fire a text to the cell, when a dispatch was sent to truck.

No need for QualCom access. This could be as simple as a text being fired to a cell phone from dispatch that hitches a ride when they start sending info to a drivers truck.

This already happens with other software and websites. Shouldn't be too hard.

Of course, there will be cross platform issues to work out. Each individual IT department would drag you through the ringer....security issues ya know. And a WHOLE lot of patent issues.

Now that wouldn't be to hard, and again it all depends on the OS on the QualCom.

I've already read a similar post, so I know it's not actually possible- but it would be nice to have an app that would give a driver control over engine parameters and limits through the PeopleNet unit. Raising or switching off road speed, erasing idle stats, controlling hard or soft cruise options, max rpm's, shifting points.. now that would be cool.

That would be overkill IMO. When I'm logged off-duty and step outside of my truck, I could personally care less if my DM blows up my qualcomm.

Yeah, I agree with you there. With my DM, he will call me if it's important enough and I don't respond.

Mine does it too guys. But daaaamn, it would be simplier to get a text, from the word go.

I've sat with my DM during normal business hours. It's always 4 windows open on one screen, and 3 more on another. With 4 people on hold....waiting.

One of those windows could be my dispatch, if a companion module sent a simple text "load info incoming" to my phone when the DM sent it to my truck. We would both save time.
