Any other similar experiences starting out like I've had in 2014? This has been hell

With that attitude, it is a wonder you still have a CDL. The day you think you know it all and do not ask for help, even if more than once, is the day you should stop driving. And, I was told that by a man with 2.5 million miles behind him.

I am just going to go out and say it(you can have your opinions too). The ones who act like they know everything are the ones who are more likely to hit something, go down a mountain too fast, kill themselves or kill someone else because they have too much pride to admit they do not know it all. If you are driving a truck, you should always be aware of the fact that you could hit something backing up(including people) and therefore more knowledge is power, and if your ego is too big to ask then you are a safety issue behind the wheel and not the guy wanting to take his time and ask questions.

No one goes out and is shown one time and can do it, sorry to bust your bubble but you guys are not the exception. I do however believe you did not ask for help, passed on the hair of your chinny chin chin and went out there, made a lot of mistakes with maybe some preventables put on you before you learned and still think you know it all. Some of us want to learn before we make a mistake or more than one, so yeah, if it takes a hundred times then so be it.

That's fine for a hobby but when someone is paying you to do a job the expectations are a bit higher.

Some people just aren't cut out for the job. When multiple employers decide you aren't making it they could be right.

That is okay if that is your opinion, my opinion is that yes it is a job but it is also one that does not need guesses because those guesses could cost a life or your profession. If companies would not have that attitude we would not have so many deaths and turn over, they do not care if you lose your license because you are a dime a dozen so you have to care no matter what people think or say.

And, by law, if he is told to do something illegal, unsafe, or drive unsafe equipment he can refuse and if he has proof when they fire him sue the pants off the company. That is why I get everything in writing or over Qualcomm, and I am willing to walk away before I jeopardize my license because there are plenty who will not use and abuse a good safe driver.

That's kind of the point. The companies put way too many drivers out there who aren't capable. It's too easy to get pass their tests and evaluations. So when a person can't find a company willing to put them on the road it says something.

No, they did not want him because he is being cautious and asking questions, I have been there and done that. I understand your feelings on this because that is how some of the mentors are but thankfully I found one that was understanding and put up with me being slow at first and emotional(I am a woman with emotions lol), now I look back and laugh at how easy it is now to back up. I had to struggle with listening to my mentor even on things I disagreed with and that taught me that there are many ways of doing the same thing. Like I said, I am not here to bash anyone, it may not be for him but if he still feels strongly about it like I did then only the man upstairs can judge if he makes it.

Yes I do have an attitude .
You are right I have the attitude that if you can't do the job then don't blame others just move on .

I never implied or said that I knew everything .
I will say the reason I still have my CDL is that I have done my job for the 34 years and dang near 4 million miles by knowing I don't know it all and doing my job in a safe manner.
So I wasn't told by someone about it I have lived it safely everyday .

Mistakes yes I have made them and will make more .
Not being able to do your job is not a mistake .
You learn by doing it not asking about it .

If you have to ask a hundred times to be shown how to back up that is not safety that is someone that don't know how to back up .
You don't act like you know how to back you either do or you don't there is no acting to it !!!

So I stand by my earlier post Nobody is here told hold your hand and if you can't do the job just move on it is no big deal this job is not for everyone .

I agree that this job is not for everyone, but I put my opinion on here(because that is what it is) for the simple fact that I went through a hard time at first because I came from a medical background where I saw day in and day out the consequences of stupid drivers. I am not saying you are stupid, the actions of some drivers are stupid because they let there pride get in the way. I was more emotional and and hesitant to do things because of my experience, not because I could not do it but because I wanted to be as safe as possible while doing it. After you have seen kids, teenagers, and grown men with families laying in a bed knowing what is going on around them and cannot speak, are eating the through a feeding tube and will never have a normal life again it gets to you and you never want to put someone there or yourself by not doing everything possible to be safe. I always tell everyone, the easy way out of an accident is if no one is injured or your dead because to live with knowing you hurt someone or living as a vegetable the rest of your life is pure hell on earth.
