Is that an international with the T bolts that go through the frame?
If so you can use a wrench on the strap side of the bolt when you loosen them, to eliminate any chance of twisting the strap.
Just loosen them close to all the way, no need to remove the nuts, so the tank could fall.

Ok, I was going by the hanger, similar to an international. I have no idea how the volvo strap attaches.

 

What style sensor? The older flat bar style you could bend in a c then unbend it once it was started in the tank. The newer style round post sensor don't bend.

 

Exactly! The old style was bendable, the new style- not at all lol dang!

 

You could take your cab suspension loose and jack up the back corners. I used a 4X4 across the corner and another to reach the jack. You might need to jack up both sides at once, though.

 

You can cut a hole in the sleeper floor, like some GMs have for fuel pump access, Lol I wouldn’t do that, but I had to turn both of mine, they weren’t set right. I ran them very low, put an old Truck tire under the tank, Loosened them all the way, worked perfect. The straps will probably be stuck to the tank pretty good. And tanks corroded underneath. I cleaned them up good, put thin layer of grease, to combat future corrosion.

 

Depending on where the hole needed to be, that might not be a bad idea. A rubber seal, some self-piloting screws and a neatly trimmed replacement piece and you could save yourself some future aggravation.

Side note: aren't tank straps supposed to have a rubber or plastic layer to separate them from the tank to prevent corrosion?
