Hmm,so thats the real cause of so called ''global warming'',growing human population and respective livestock.
there is too much of us,stop breeding!

''New regulations have been enacted by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT), setting greenhouse gas (GHG) and fuel-efficiency standards. Because lowering fuel use results in less carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions, the main GHG regulated, the standards are equivalent. These regulations are scheduled to take effect in 2014 and 2017.''
at the same time big marine and locomotive engines is still on tier2 standarts....

Okay, here's the bombshell.# The volcanic eruption in Iceland, since its first spewing of volcanic ash has, in just FOUR DAYS, NEGATED EVERY SINGLE EFFORT you have made in the past five years to control CO2 emissions on our planet, all of you.
    #
Of course you know about this evil carbon dioxide that we are trying to suppress, that vital chemical compound that every plant requires to live and grow, and to synthesize into oxygen for us humans, and all animal life.
    #
I know, it's very disheartening to realize that all of the carbon emission savings you have accomplished while suffering the inconvenience and expense of: driving Prius hybrids, buying fabric grocery bags, sitting up till midnight to finish your kid's "The Green Revolution" science project, throwing out all of your non-green cleaning supplies, using only two squares of toilet paper, putting a brick in your toilet tank reservoir, selling your SUV and speedboat, vacationing at home instead of abroad, nearly getting hit every day on your bicycle, replacing all of your 50 cents light bulbs with $10.00 light bulbs...well, all of those things you have done have all gone down the tubes in just four days.
    #
The volcanic ash emitted into the Earth's atmosphere in just four days - yes - FOUR DAYS ONLY by that volcano in Iceland, has totally erased every single effort you have made to reduce the evil beast, carbon.# And there are around 200 active volcanoes on the planet spewing out this crud any one time - EVERY DAY.
    #
I don't really want to rain on your parade too much, but I should mention that when the volcano Mt Pinatubo erupted in the Philippines in 1991, it spewed out more greenhouse gases into the atmosphere than the entire human race had emitted in its entire YEARS on earth.# Yes folks, Mt Pinatubo was active for over one year, think about it.
    #
Of course I shouldn't spoil this touchy-feely tree-hugging moment and mention the effect of solar and cosmic activity and the well-recognized 800-year global heating and cooling cycle, which keep happening, despite our completely insignificant efforts to affect climate change.
    #
And I do wish I had a silver lining to this volcanic ash cloud but the fact of the matter is that the bush fire season across the western USA and Australia this year alone will negate your efforts to reduce carbon in our world for the next two to three years.# And it happens every year.
    #
Just remember that your government just tried to impose a whopping carbon tax on you on the basis of the bogus ''human-caused'' climate change scenario.
    #
Hey, isn't it interesting how they don't mention ''Global Warming'' any more, but just ''Climate Change'' - you know why?# It's because the planet has COOLED by 0.7 degrees in the past century and these global warming bull artists got caught with their pants down.
    #
And just keep in mind that you might yet have an Emissions Trading Scheme (that whopping new tax)
imposed on you, that will achieve absolutely nothing except make you poorer.# It won't stop any volcanoes from erupting, that's for sure.

Funny thing , CFC's were blamed for the hole in the ozone.
That much has truth to it.
What they fail to mention is that human produced CFC's are heavier than air and have no way of getting in to the stratosphere.
The hole in the ozone was discovered just above a volcano that had been spewing ash and CFC's in to the stratosphere in volumes hundreds of fold lager and in a short while than humans entire production ever.
I suppose this was just coincidence.
A US led ban on the use of CFC's was propagated.
This happened just after US corporation DuPont patented a replacement.
    Another coincidence I presume!

Invention is the mother of deception it seems.

I read last year that Goldman-Sachs already has the software developed to trade "Carbon Credits" as a commodity.

I'm sure these Wall Street guys wouldn't think of using such a system to rip us off, ya' think???

MX is a DAF designed and built engine with a Delphi fuel system used as engine was built with North America in mind, Daf usually have a Bosch fuel system, Delphi used on MX so it would be easier to market as Paccar with a known fuel system to US.
I was involved in pre production trials in late 2004 and 2005. Engine has had issues which have now been resolved and latest spec engine is strong with good power, torque and fuel economy. US engine is slightly different with EGR, DPF and Variable vane turbo extra to European spec MX, It is built in US for North America

And what about the warranty when they blow up all around the place like the majority of the Irish ones do....is that European or American?....The Irish version is to tell a guy go to hell unless he has a big fleet where they will geneflect in front of you....

Are You guys more p3ss3d at the DAF agents than the truck itself?

If so I get that ,I have a story or to myself.
Not DAF agents , but the DAF agents here are totally useless.

Both, the truck was made worse by having no backup, the agents are really bad here, I was getting mine maintained in holland because you couldn't depend on the agents here to do anything and were constantly trying to charge me for parts that were under warranty. A friend of mine left in his daf because the brake warning light was on, they 'fixed' it by disconnecting the light. On top of that when the engines failed prematurely they wouldn't repair them under warranty saying because it wasn't serviced by the dealer that sold me the truck the warranty was invalid! However like riverstick said if you are a big operator they will kiss your ##### and do everything properly.

To be fair I suppose they are not the worse thing on wheels but I have seen a lot of small hauliers and families put on the breadline because of premature engine failure, indifferent backup and poor warranty. As Scaniaman says,he suffered from both product failure and getting the two fingers when looking for warranty due to premature engine failure. Now these guys thought that the small man could never damage their fleet sales on the other side of the world, but now with the advent of forums like this, the smaller operator can voice his truthful experiences to all and sundry. This obviously doesn't suit Paccar,as they are putting their salesmen and representatives on here countering our argument, but hell you can't treat your customers in a shoddy manner and expect to get away with it.

I know one family trucking company who were refused transmission warranty because the truck was one day beyond twelve months...I can take you to another owner operator who's MX engine is drinking oil to beat the band after only three hundred thousand miles...and guess what...because he only operates two trucks he can't get warranty...yet his competitor 30 miles away has 45 trucks and Daf seem to have no problems rebuilding his engines for free.

In my experience of running trucks,I found that Volvo,Scania,Mercedes & Man are trucks for ten years...Daf is a truck for 5 years....after that it'll cost you....provided it already hasn't done so.....
