thats what i am afraid of

its not bad when you are at home and you can play around and reboot and reinstall

but on the road, having deadlines and needing information, the last thing i want to do is spend lots of time with this endeavor

fun it was, but now, time is a premium

i will look into gpsdrive, i just need something that maps out my routes (just like streets and trips) i dont need the gps function

    thanks for the info

    Because is just works, IMO.

I run a Macbook Air, it has a Windows Partition I never use. My old laptop had Windows 7 and Mint dual boot. I don't miss the size of the laptop though.

The only reason I started using windows again was GPS updates. Between Web pages with activex and a widows program needing to access hardware through WINE cost too much time.

Linux changes so fast things will get better, or get worse first.

thats exactly my cause of hesitation, getting into it and things not working out right or being too time consuming

when i was home messing with linux, it was time consuming and fun (like working on a 65 mustang), but i wouldnt want to take a 65 mustang cross country
