So you install an app on your phone to track you, and you get reward points?

    What a scam.
What else are they tracking on your phone?
That really sounds like an easy way of collecting a lot of data on you that you really don't want tracked.
    Accounts, passwords, stuff like that.
You really have no idea what this app could be doing in the background.

I did for a while. But every few days the app says it needs to update and asked for permissions to access other crap on your phone. I started to worry about the legitimacy of it all. If you are going to do it, get it on a burner phone that you don't use for any other apps that require passwords or any other personal sensitive information.

Other than that, if you really want crypto, go get a 'wallet' and invest that way. I have seen Bitcoin kiosks popping up in stores lately. If you have a Paypal account, you can buy crypto that way as well.

You’re not supposed to be on your phone playing with apps while driving.

Coin seems to be mostly in the business of selling ads, consumer location data, and paid subscriptions. All the “geomining” and validating geospatial data they talk about is a load of crap. Here’s a good write up on it:

What’s the geo-mining app COIN all about?

You just set the app up before you release your brakes. Begin driving and the app picks up coin out in front of the truck as you drive down the road. If this thing was truly legit, it would be a super easy way to mine millions of free coin for a trucker, seeing as how we drive hundreds of miles a day.
