This is the way it happens for me. Say we're going uphill and your doing 65 while i'm doing 68, not a big difference but it can be. I need the momentum to keep me going up the hill, if my truck holds at 68 and your still doing 65 and I get in the hammer lane to get around you but can't because I'm steady dropping speed I don't expect you to slow down but maybe you could speed up. So i can get back over. Then going down hill I let my truck go to 70 before slowing down unless the speed limit is 60 or less.

Your 4-wheeler probably weighs around 4,000lbs if that. I weigh 80,000lbs. It is almost a double standard because we have needs and conditions we meet that you will never see. When merging onto the highway I expect 4wheelers to let us over because we ain't like y'all. We can't speed up as fast as you can. Which is why when y'all try merging onto the interstate if i can move over I do, but if i can't i keep going because its harder for me to slow down or go faster than it is for you. I will say though, I don't move over or slow down for people that try merging onto the highway doing less than the speed limit. I can only go 61 on cruise, if the speed limit is 70 and your trying to merge on at 60 or less, I ain't moving over. Sorry, but you having the ability to speed up faster you should be doing the speed limit before you merge.

    Lmao, so true.

The best advice I could give to any four wheeler is to maintain a safe distance, be courteous and considerate, don't stop short in front of a 18 wheeler. We can squash you like a fly in an instant! 18 wheelers can't stop on a dime in a split second. Once you come to understand the laws of physics and be mindful of your bad habits the road can be a much safer place to be on for all of us.

Decided that the fastest way to get to the next town was to take I-65, a busy highway. After driving on it for about 5 minutes, an eighteen-wheeler signaled and started to turn in front of me. I had to break hard to avoid hitting him. I really don't think he saw me since I was surrounded by trucks and I was the only car among them. For safety's sake I'll ask this question: Is it hard to see when other rigs block your view from below?

Yes. In mine anyway. Were you on his passenger or drivers side?

Yes it's possible that you could have not been visible to him. Other wise he would have avoided you. A four wheeler driving among a pack of trucks is like hiding among a group of bulls on the move. You are always at risk of being trampled under foot.

The BIGGEST thing 4-wheeler drivers can do is remember I / We are not out there to try to get to or from work or the park or a movie or sight seeing etc. We ARE working and the clock is ticking and we need to keep moving. Yes I know Trucks can be slow and seem to hold you up from your hair appt. etc. and need more room to turn etc. but I can assure you that most of the time (At least speaking for myself) I'm moving as fast as I can. Safely

Yea, STOP CUTTING ME OFF!!! If your courteous ill let you infront of me. I had jerks ride the shoulder for the entire length of my trailer to get infront of me. Then if you get hit for being a moron, its my fault. Drivers have a hard time seeing everything on our right side. And we need alot of room to stop, so leave room Also when passing. Youd be pissed off, 4wheeler, if i did that to you in my truck, so why do that to me? Let me ask you, out of my tractor trailer and your car, which is faster? Your car, right? Then why think that I can stop quicker than you? Your playing a deadly game by pulling infront of a truck and then hitting your brakes. It doesnt make you look fast or cool, just very dumb, especially when your showing off infront of your boufriend or girlfriend, with your music playing, and you get rear-ended by an 80,000lb vehicle for driving like a fool? Nor very cool is it? Bottom line...be courteous, and if you got a CB remember, thats our way of communicating with each other, dont key up the mic and say stupid crap and be rude. Besides, if your not a truck driver, you dont need a CB, this is a special club..lmao. just playing

You wouldn't cut off, stop in front of, or pull out in front of a train. Don't do it to a truck.

I would go to your office and disrespect you. When your on the highway you're in my office. Show me the same respect in my office.

To be honest, I can't remember which side it was on. I figured it would be less nerve-racking If I got off the highway so I took a side road after that. Now if I can avoid it, I won't go on the highway if it is loaded with trucks. There's other ways of getting to my destination!
