Yeah, he was aware of that, but it won't crank at all. He tried to find the relay for the APU, and its not marked in the fuse box. He is just going to take it in to the shop and have them look at it when he gets back to the yard. I think it is probably better for them to look at it since they know more about APU's then he does.
APU quit working..need help.

Nope not yet.....and after the week he had last week, I don't know how he has stayed sane...lol If it was me...I would have been jumping up and down, cussing, and kicking it...
dead head miles not paid for
a run that wound up going further, and a dispatcher who gave him the wrong linehaul
so he lost out on $400
a ticket for no trucks allowed when the sign was in front of a gas station (thinking it meant no trucks allowed to go in to the gas station, because gas stations do have those signs) $198.00 ticket
APU quit working
and he hit a deer which bent the bracket underneath the bumper, and knocked out the bulb in the headlight. $2.98 bulb, but we have to get the bumper fixed, and who knows how much that will cost now.
Then we had another trucker come stay with us for the weekend last week, and he brought his dog. My dog and his dog got into a dog fight, and the trucker got bit several times. My dog had his paw split open, and it got infected so I had to take him to the vet to get antibiotics and that was $106.00. So my husbands riding buddy couldn't go out with him.
So I was the one jumping up and down and cussing.....but it still didn't work it just raised my blood pressure.Last edited: Dec 10, 2012

Well, ####. now that the dues have been paid things should look up just in time for winter.
mamamullins Thanks this. -
Good lord.... Sometimes all you can do is go home and forget the previous few weeks ever happened. -
Just a thought... i replaced the wiring harness on my Carrier APU this summer after finding that the rear plate upon which the starter was mounted had worn through the protective wrap over the wiring harness and damaged some wiring. Before this, my APU would shut down at times claiming 'no alternator feedback' on the controller box.

He had to go have the truck put in the shop last week. 6 new fuel injectors, fuel injector pump, new starter for APU and a new alternator for APU. Don't know the repair on that one yet, but I don't think it's going to be a cheap one.
The APU is running again. Yeah...no more restaurant meals.
skellr Thanks this. -
I had the same unit in the past. If the fuel level goes down to a certain level....about a 1/4 of a tank or so. The unit will not start. Also you can flood it if you don't let it retry on its own. And most importantly they should be serviced about ever regularly. At T/A its about $50. Or you can do it yourself for about $35 it $40.

Yeah we just had it serviced about a month ago, and then had to replace the parts to it. It is working great now.
