Are Cat filters worth the $???

    Older heavy equipment used them for years, and my older trucks had them as well. I think that they do fine for water separation, but they may not pre-filter the fuel as well as the new water separator filters. I would suspect that you might have to change the secondary more often, but not having to buy two filters it probably saves some money.

    I change the secondary every 12,000 miles when I change the oil. It never really needs changing and could certainly go a lot longer but that's just my routine.

    what is the OE for oil filter and on CAT G3516B and I read this whole string and I am more confused now than when I first started. the CAT employee said its a joint between Donaldson and CAT so is Donaldson OEM & CAT is OEM? or would dontalson eb considered aftermarket
