My first rig was a cabover with leaf springs, a 9 speed manual transmission , with 300 horsepower and no power steering .
And I made deliveries to West Virginia and Kentucky

at least the ac and heat worked good

It ain't what you got, it's how well you can use it.

I learned on on a B Model Mack with a 5 X 4 Quadraplex behind a 262 Cummins. I'm now on my third 13 speed ultrashift. I like it a lot, but with an X15 525/1850 I'm not sure the transmission makes that much difference.

I will also note that given how well I am treated and compensated by my current employer, if they wanted to put me back in another B Model, I wouldn't object.

If they asked me to drive a Volvo I'd probably give my two weeks notice, but that's another topic altogether.

Don’t forget the free hole cut in the floor so teams of 3 or 4 don’t have to stop to go to the bathroom.

I did that. Didn't work so well. Problem is, I forgot to cut a hole in my seat. I also forgot to cut a hole in my pants. Wife was not pleased on laundry day. I did save five minutes on my trip though.

Auto or manual your not making time drag racing red light to red light. I do my same ol deal fluff em. Low low and easy up on the clutch bump the throttle and get another one. I pull off kinda like old people #### for lack of a better term. It takes a bit once the green flag gets dropped every one jockey in for position to get through the pack and safely out front. Folks behind can be mad, hell the freight wagon be mad I don’t care.....it evens out ima have wait on him directly

Driftem down, clock off them lights, keep them Holsteins standing up. Mr. T. Burma don' like his high priced dairy mommas coming in with skint up butts. Next time he has a load to call in, he will not specify driver be you, it will be do not send driver xxxxx. Still ran that 918 miles in <21hours, 2 lanes,US82,US231,US19 and US98. None of the others in sight after the Montgomery..

I'm hourly. I accelerate and shift so smooth I wouldn't wake you up in the passenger seat. Lol
