It's good they read the posts. Perhaps they will take heed and discontinue the greed. Treat drivers with respect and pay them a decent wage for an honest days work. It's as simple as that !!!

Turning drivers over is a business in itself. They aren't going to stop. Its more economical to abuse a driver for 6 months and get the miles covered than to treat them well and let them go home. Enter next driver....the cycle continues. Good luck, but they are making money turning us over.

Pretty much agree. As mentioned here, Stevens has over 100% turnover, even if its lower than the national average, it says a lot about them. Most of the mega carriers march into training schools and blow a lot of smoke to want to be drivers who fall victim to them. A new truck is nothing if the respect, pay and miles are not there. BTW, MS Carriers paid new drivers 26 cents a mile in 1992, and Carretta was paying 30 cents all miles back in 1993-compare.

Good that they read it, maybe that will get an idea of how poor of an image they have. Most of these pay peanuts-1990 wages or less to start-Stevens, Swift, England, US Express, May and the likes. They all cry for drivers and pay nothing. Who do they think they are anyhow?

I agree. This could be a tool for research and used to improve the corporation. Sadly, their goal isn't to have the best trucking corp, it is all about the bottom line at the expense of drivers.

Dang. Can't get around that 100 percent turnover. Talked with driver services where I am and told, including retiree's our company is running under 10%.

Western express is right there along with the low pay driver merry-go-round . They pay peanuts and profit off of their drivers without batting an eye. They now charge trainees to be trained while being paid gov't money to train people !!! This career may not be suited for everyone so please choose wisely. Being your own boss has it's rewards also. We all have to start somewhere.
