    Thank you sir...

    And let's not stop there...
    Power Steering... Gone
    Power Breaks.... Gone
    Air Conditioning... Gone
    Jake Breaks... Gone

I am sure the ones that Drove Teams of Horses thought them youngsters with their four wheeled contraptions where lazy and unwilling to learn the real job of Driving Horses.

OK @rank slow your roll and READ. I said I have worked with F1 teams, Ferrari, Red Bull and McLearen, we provided test systems and components - do you remember the active suspension way back in the 90's.

Second I drove a truck back in the 80's finished college and came back to it, and really I couldn't give a rats you know what that you have been here for X years, really it's the lifestyle that's hard, driving the truck is a challenge yes, but really come on its not that hard!

You do what you need to do to fill yourself and keep up your self estem, maybe if you'd stop judging others and just enjoy the debate...nah that's beyond your abilities right?

    LOL ... You So Funny!!!

No one comes here trying to prove they are a trucker... And if the words steering wheel holder, knuckle dragged, below average, blah blah blah blah are already being tossed around then that says more about the buggy whip holders than the steering wheel holders.

Start the name calling and then suggest that the other side is emotional... LOL

    Sir, your insecurities are showing.

You say live and let live
    but your actual words
    speak otherwise.

The world is full of haters.
A few spiteful truckers won't make a dent.

Slow my roll? LOL I read plenty well. That's why I catch your mis-steps. You're the one that made the false claims. Just trying to clear some stuff up because you're all over the place. What kind of Engineer are you and why did you say F1's had automatic transmissions?

I don't know everything... I gladly admit that.
But I also don't mind challenging bullies.

If you like what you like, fine... I respect that.
If I like what I like, please extend the same courtesy to me and others that just prefer autos.

Your insults, well, that's a different story.

No insults. Just calling it like it is MacDaddy. Like what you like I have no problem with that. I've never busted anyone for driving an auto. Who gives a crap anyway. I will challenge BS tho and that includes claims that autos are better especially when the statement is made by rookie know it alls that know nothing about it.

I am an Aeronautical Engineer and F1's have automated manuals, the driver has to use paddles on the back of the steering wheel because as you pointed out they no longer can utilize programmed downshifts which is a shame because when they had the V12's the sound was amazing. And nope said I worked with F1 teams not for, that would have been to cool...

The point of bringing up F1 was only to say we have progressed, and F1 tranny's because they are seamless now sometimes just stop selecting gears, so an argument could be made that a standard box would be more reliable, though slower. Might even make the racing more exciting, but I digress...

There is nothing wrong with manually shifting a standard transmission and I agree a totally green driver would be better off starting in one. And maybe you never get tired and always shift perfectly, but many don't so playing the averages AMT's will only increase for 80k applications. Hey the next big thing from Europe will be automated braking systems, now that'll be controversial.
