Q: how long does red meat stay in your system?
A: red meat can stay in your system 3 to 4 days after consumption and longer in digestive tract. If you are thinking of going vegan you can take a fast to clean your digestive tract out. The Nag Hamadi says to take a 7 day fast and for the cleaning out completely use an enema that is made up of distilled water placed in the sunshine until warm then apply each day starting with day 1 and on each consecutive day until the water comes out clean. This takes about three or four days but you wash your intestines out of meat residue. Make sure you hold...

My last truck was an automatic. The only time I really appreciated it was in rush hour big city traffic. Backing to a dock took a little bit of finesse as you had to put just enough pressure on the accelerator to get it going those last few feet. Too hard and you slam the dock. Too light and you didn't move anywhere.

Mind you, you didn't have to worry or even think about up shifting or down shifting as the truck did it for you. Some times I put the transmission into manual mode and do the shifting myself but even then it was either pull up on the handle or push down on the handle to shift. Just didn't seem right.

They suck. Really. When you are driving a truck, sometimes you have to "GET IT" if you know what I mean. Automatics shift wayyyyyy too slow. In heavily congested areas where you need to make a quick entrance into traffic, you'll be beggin for a manual.

and within 10 minutes I'll be running down the road right beside you. The first 3 yrs I was with this company I drove a manual transmisison, anytime my truck is down (maybe 3 times in the last two years) and I need to drive something, I hop in one of our Freightshaker Columbias with Eaton 9-speed manuals and get'er done. This past july I spent 4 days driving a custom US Military Freightshaker with a 13 spd manual from Colo. Springs to Miami.

Oh and can you or one of your minions (rerun), please provide me with proof that my autoshift costs more then a manual, because, well, because I've seen the order sheet for my truck, hell I helped spec my truck, so I know exactly what Mack charges for my transmission compared to the EXACT SAME ########## MANUAL VERSION of my transmission. Now, pay the f*** attention to what I put in capital letters, and tell me what the price difference is. Oh, and tell me how often they breakdown, I mean, I've never driven one for any length of time (only 10 years and 1.2 million miles) so I'm curious as to how often they breakdown.

PLEASE, OH PLEASE GOOD SIR, PROVE ME AND MY TEN YEARS OF EXPIERENCE DRIVING AN AUTOSHIFT WRONG.

OH AND WHILE YOUR AT IT, PLEASE, OH PLEASE TELL ME HOW MANY MILLIONS OF MILES EXP. YOU HAVE DRIVING AN AUTOSHIFT.

Oh, and while your telling me this stuff, keep this in mind. My employer has a fleet of 12 trucks, 2 '04 Freightshaker Columbia's with Eaton 9spd manuals, 2 '04 Mack CX models with Eaton 10 spd autoshifts, one '09 Mack CXU with Eaton 10 spd autoshift, and 7 Mack '99 thru '01 CH model daycabs with Eaton 10 spd autoshifts.

Both Frieghtshakers have under 600K miles, both have had the clutch replaced and both transmissions have been fully rebuilt once. Both are driven by drivers with 30 yrs exp. each.
The two CX model Macks have had the X/Y motors replaced twice in about 400K +/- miles.
The CXU Mack has 213K and has only had the 2-piece clutch brake fall out due to poor factory install, it was reinstalled in under 45 minutes.
The 7 CH models, all have between 350K and 600K miles, all have had the clutches replaced (they are primarily city use), one has had the trans opened up (due to a snap ring that failed and caused a gear to shift and lock the trans), all have had the X/Y motors replaced 3 to 4 times.
My previous tractor was a '00 CH model that was traded in at 978K, the trans was never opened, the clutch was replaced at 670K, and even then they said the clutch would last another 100K but the clutch brake had failed, hence the clutch had to be pulled anyhow. In the 1st 4 yrs, the X/Y motors were replaced 4 times, in the remaining 4 yrs they were replaced once and that was 6 mos. before trade in.

really? if it has a manual mode, put it in manual mode and control the shifts yourself, then you can do whatever you need to do.

Really. I don't want to be looking down at the button on the automatic shifter while trying to drive. I can shift with a manual blindly.

Automatics are horrible, sensor problems all the time when it gets humid/wet outside so they wont shift correctly. Never had more trans repairs ever than with a auto, you don't have as much control as you do with a manual. They can burn automatics for large trucks in a pit someplace in hell for all I care.

Stryker it's obvious that these "experts" are all talking #### about a tranny they have no idea about. Either you are a driver or a whiner. They were paying me $2.64 a mile minimum. I loved my autoshift.

I would have thought that if you could blindly shift:biggrin_2552: you would be able to learn to flick a switch.
    Do I detect prejudice?
