OP,looks like everything is the trucks fault and you are the perfect driver.
You are doing everything to that truck you shouldn't and what needs doing you leaving out.
I hope you have deep pockets.

In case you don't get get here's why i think you are abusing your truck.

You go to a "diesel doctor" and have the engine uprated without doing the basics.
Not yet done a overhead but allready mess with the settings in the computer???? WTF

The engine has a VGT ,i presume you have not changed it?
So it is still the original?
btw the sluggish effect you complained about in earlier post might be due to the turbo.

Have you even looked if the engine has soot build up ?

Your plan off attack is so out off wack, words fail me.
But hey, it is your truck and your dime.

The max road RPM allowed by pedal is 2,100 RPM. With a series 60, it performs good climbing hill at high RPM. The engine has momentum slamming up and down. My DDEC II series 60 only hits 1,720 RPM before hitting the governor. There are times I'm sure where you can and will hit 2,100 RPM's. It's all on conditions, but at those higher RPM's. But, once in that high of an RPM, you're really not going far.

The OP was saying he had the progressive shifting disabled, so he can climb the hills faster than 1,600-1,700 RPM. I don't think he meant to say he was climbing at 2,100 RPM.

Yes, OP, slow your roll. Try 60-65 MPH and watch 1/2 - 3/4 increase in MPG's.

I know this is an old(ish) post. But I see this complaint SO much, and it is SO BS.

You are free to say whatever you want.

THE owners and maintainers of this board have posted usage guidelines. They are free to set those, just like newspapers do not have to publish your letters to them (with some restrictions related to political advertisements).

Your rights do not override their rights. You are absolutely free to start your own board and set your own guidelines, publish a newsletter, stand on a corner or park bench and shout it (but do NOT disturb the right of others to have peace), or find another board to match what and how you want to say it.

One persons rights vs another persons rights can get very ticklish sometimes, and winds up on a bench with 7 well vetted judges to make the (sometimes) final decision. But here, it's pretty clear. Sometimes annoying, but clear. Your rights do NOT supersede or override the rights of the owners and maintainers of this board.

There. A clear word picture and as wordy as I like it without being insulting and also probably won't have any attitudinal effect whatsoever, as usual. :biggrin_2559:

They are a bunch of nancys around here with the censorship IMHO. For instance the list of words they block out is longer than Bill Clinton's list of excuses. Ironic considering were a board of truckers but whatever.

Back to the topic. I don't think the re-rate was a bad move since it's your truck and there's no point in using a mega carrier's neutered ECM calibrations. You're going to end up dumping quite a bit of money into this engine to get it running tip-top is my hunch though. Those DPF systems are notoriously cantankerous and the EGR systems can be troublesome too at times.

Hoestly if it was my truck I't probably take it to those guys that Martin suggested and let them put their stethoscope on it and see what they think.

I don't care for the banning of talk about tampering with emissions systems either. But I respect and see the owner and moderaters' points for doing so. It sucks to live in a country where you fear your own government. That's the real problem. Not the people that run this site trying to avoid being a nail sticking up too high. You know what happens to nails that stick up?
