BC travel advice needed

I'm bringing a truck from Abbotsford to Sask first of December and I'll be bobtailing with a set of chains. I was thinking of coming across on Hwy 3 and wondering if this is my best bet.

noooo, your better off running highway 1. highway 3 is full of twists and turns and hills.

 

definately NOT 3. Take the Trans Canada

 

Hahahahahahaha thanks guys.... I've never taken the 3 I assumed/heard it was a bit more milder weather.

 

Hell no lol. Lots of snow on that route. I would avoid it at all costs in the winter. Lots of spots with no cell service too. I run van-calgary now and hated when i first started doing cranbrook 2 times a week.

 

i LOVE running the 3, did it all last winter with chip trains, just wouldn't want to bobtail it.

 

I hated getting stuck behind you guys lol

 

With highway 3, aren't there 4 mountain ranges and passes to climb? With Trans Canada, just the Coq and Rogers Pass/Rockies? And to be honest if you look at 3 on a BC map it looks like a spastic snake-those blasted twists and turns eat up an awful lot of running hours.

 

Yup, it takes me just under 12 hours to run back to delta empty from cranbrook. 800km I think...
