Dont write off Covenant because of rumors. The hotel i stayed at in dallas was pretty nice. nary a bug was seen. now the company owned hotel in chattanooga was a little below my standards but again no bugs were seen. this was in 2012.

    good luck on your journey.

So would it be worth it to try if my last ticket was 9 years ago, and my suspension is over a year ago? I'm not sure about their requirements on that as I haven't been able to find any definite answers. The only reason my license isn't 1 year to date from today is because last year when covid was around, it caused my DPS office in my town to close down and only appointment I could get to take my road test was in October. If it wasn't for that, I would've had it back July of last year, and would've met their 1 year of having a valid license requirement. I just don't want to waste anybody's time nor my time if they're not even gonna hire me. I'm trying get the ball rolling as soon as I can, but there again I don't want to with the absolute worst company if I don't have to. I'll take the best out of the bad ones before I go with the very worst. And I'm definitely a pay attention to detail kind of person. My head is constantly on a swivel. My head and eyes are never fixated on one point for longer than 5, maybe 7 seconds at the most. Just that I got used to after being in the Army, and working at the prison. I'm always noticing my surroundings.

Roger. I appreciate it brother. Does Covenant make you go through a school for training to get your actual Class A or your permit? All it says on their website is that they'll email you a list of approved CDL schools in your area, then you'll go to Covenant HQ to do your training, and then off to do OTR Training.

My guess is, it is worth the time to make the phone call. Probably won't take much effort or time to find your answer.

They didn't have a school in 2012 and pretty sure they don't now. They have main headquarters in Chattanooga and several terminals. I already had my CDL then went to Hutchins Tx to meet a trainer
They are a decent starter company in my opinion. If the truck needed anything they got it taken care of right away.

That's good to hear. So between Covenant, CR England, PAM, CRST, and Western Express, which is the best company overall? I'm not necessarily out for money as I am for experience, but I don't want to be taken advantage of either. I've been watching some recent YouTube videos and reading some reddit posts, and covenant seems to have decent and consistent pay from what I've gathered.

Make some phone calls. Going to depend on where you live and rather or not they offer training thru them and what the contract is if they do. Personally sounds like you can’t be to picky. Pick someone who will take you and just get the experience and keep your record clean and in a while more opportunities will open up. Like most careers you gotta work your way up. But personally given your desire to team with your gf I’d pick covenant or crst if available

I'm honestly not trying to be picky. I'm just trying to narrow down my list, and rank it in order. I'm a bit of a perfectionist. At this point, knowing my driver record and me getting fired in 2019, if it means if it means getting my foot in the door, I'll take a year long contract. I see it as I need at least a year's worth of experience to go anywhere else that's better anyway so might as well take it if it's what I can get. I appreciate your time and input brother.
