Hello, I was just wondering if anyone had some good key questions to ask at recruiting events. I am planning to go to the Schneider National event on Feb 6 in Green Bay and knowing the right questions to ask would be very helpful in deciding if working for them would be a good career choice. Any thoughts or input is appreciated.

Average gross per week for a driver in each division, average hometime by division, average age of trucks (Schneider runs some pretty new rigs, shouldn't be a problem).

Look at what YOU want out of the career, and ask the appropriate questions to see if Schnieder is a good fit for you. But also be prepared to compromise. Very few of us land at the best company for us right out of the gate.

Ask to see physical settlements with personal information obscured.

    That'll cut through some BS.

Crank roll up or air powered windows, floor kick air vents or air conditioning, spring or air ride, regular or center point, tattletale box or logs, and manual or self canceling signals.

Oh god, I remember the floor kick air vents on the old Macks! Memories, oh the memories.

Note: I didn't say good memories!

x2. That would be my bigger concern. "How long do I have to be sitting still before I qualify for detention pay?" Don't ask "Do you pay detention pay?"...as some companies pay detention pay, but don't exactly advertise that you'll have to sit for a while before you qualify for it.

Will you be going to their school? They'll probably have some pamplets there so take some and read up on the types of programs and driving opportunites they have to offer.
