Just curious since I'm a newb in what things cost and such. What would you want to do a load like that? I know permits and pilots eat a huge chunk of change.

I would probably think hard at twice that number

    2 pilots - OH,IN,IL,NM, Local CA
    1 pilot - NE
Permits likely to be over $500 ea
    IN,IL,NM

Yes that is what I do, or run the back tires up on some 8 timbers. It makes a difference!

I did, thinking maybe they were just light on the load but paying plus plus.

No the guy was a douche and made it clear it was $4/mile all in.

I wished him good luck with that.

Things have gotten mighty skinny for me right now. But all these brokers who have no clue what they are brokering. Guy stressed it was one pick one drop, uh no #### ####### it is a 107k pounds - so I guess no drop and hook either....

There was a day at least Landstar brokers had an idea what they were moving.

Only pic I have of a lift up on the neck and I used to do this all the time. One of the good things about a wide neck. Cali allowed excess weight on an axle group while being under 80,000 if it was to make legal height. This was 1986.

Add 10% minimum to the miles for permit routing, figure you are hauling more than twice the weight a normal truck does & dealing with all the inherent risks & hassles, permits, escorts.

The agent has it at $4.175 a mile, at PC Miler miles, a good rate for a dry van hauling rolls of paper.

Wasn't agreeing with the rate, was pointing out the stupidity of it.
