Every state, every scale is diifferent. READ THE POSTED SIGNS.
Some say all vehicles over X Tons must enter
Some say all commericial trucks must enter
Some say all pickup and trailers (common in the North West)
When in doubt, enter the sacle

In Calif All Trucks means everybody above a P/U. Rentals, Bobtails, Empty, Loaded its a party. I believe AZ is the same, and don't know about Texas. Frist trip thru, pull to the side and go in and ask them that way theres no doubt.

Heck, I had to go through the scales several years ago driving a rental Penske truck loaded with my personal belongings in it. Granted, it was a 26,000 pound truck with a 26 foot box on it.

Has anyone ever pulled through a scale in their personal vehicle (four wheeler) while on hometime? Very embarrassing.!

I never did, but my dad has done it a few times, and he's been out of the seat for almost a decade!
