    Good morning everyone.
I just got my CDL A.
I have a full time job and I do shift work, so I usually have a few days and or nights off a week and I'd like to fill my days off with truck driving.

I'm scheduling to take the hazmat endorsement immediately; so I'll have that soon as well.

I'm looking to see if anyone has some info on good part time work in my area.

I'm a responsible guy with a highly flexible schedule who is willing to work even the non sought after jobs (initially while gaining experience)

So if anyone can offer some ideas on where / who I could be calling or applying with that offers flexible schedules - I would greatly appreciate it.

    Stay safe out there

You do realize that the hours you work on your regular job count against your 70 hours on the trucking job?

    Is that true?
I drive FT so never had to even look that up but if you have an office job for 40 hours that is deducted from the 70?

The office job would need to be logged as on duty not driving hours. To answer the OP’s question, yes there are many jobs that cater to part time drivers. I would personally look at LTL carriers as many work part time drivers, usually city and dock work but some companies like ABF hire part time road drivers at certain locations. 4C3597BD-72AC-4389-AEEF-882058F44588.png

Yes, but I've never known anyone to actually log it. Probably known dozens of drivers that had outside work and none of them logged it. Sometimes we do what we have to do to give our family a better standard of living or to pay for health insurance, etc.
